The principle

This site is built to know as little as possible about you.

It loads no third-party service, no analytics script, no remote font, no social button. Fonts and images are served from the site itself. You can check this: open your browser's network tab on any page.

What is collected

If you write to me: your email address and the content of your message. They are used to reply to you, and for nothing else.

If you subscribe to the letter: your email address. It is used to send you that letter, and for nothing else. Every message contains an unsubscribe link.

If you share a testimony: whatever you decide to send me. Nothing is published without your agreement, and you may ask for its removal at any time.

What stays in your browser

The site keeps two things in your browser's local storage, for your reading comfort:

— how far you have read in an article, so it can offer to take you back there; — your language choice.

This never leaves your device. It is not sent to me, it is not shared with anyone, and a button lets you erase it.

Advertising and analytics

As of the last update of this page, this site displays no advertising, sets no advertising cookie, and uses no analytics tool.

If that were to change, this page would be updated before the change, not after. A dedicated page would then explain in plain words how the site is funded, and your consent would be asked before anything is set.

Your rights

You may ask at any time for access to the data I hold about you, its correction, its deletion, or to be removed from the letter.

I do not promise a deadline. I do it as soon as I can, and I confirm when it is done.

How long data is kept

Email exchanges are kept for the length of the conversation, then deleted once they no longer serve a purpose.

Subscriptions to the letter are kept until you unsubscribe.

No data is sold, rented, exchanged or passed to a third party for commercial purposes.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and the data I hold is minimal, which is the best protection there is: what is not collected cannot leak.

I do not guarantee absolute security — no one honestly can. If an incident affected your data, I would tell you.
